How the add-on handles your data

The permissions and what they are used for

The add-on asks Google for exactly these permissions. It has no access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar or any file other than the one you have open.

• View and manage the document, spreadsheet or presentation the add-on is installed in (documents.currentonly, spreadsheets.currentonly, presentations.currentonly) — to read the file you currently have open and to apply the edits you ask for. The add-on cannot open, list or access any other file in your Google Drive.
• Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars inside Google applications (script.container.ui) — to show the assistant's chat panel in the sidebar.
• See your primary Google Account email address (userinfo.email) — to pre-fill the email address when you sign in to your Abacus.AI account from the sidebar.

What is sent, and when

Content from the open file is sent to Abacus.AI only when you submit a request in the sidebar, and only the portions needed to carry out that request. Nothing is sent while the sidebar is idle.

It is processed in real time to produce the response and the edits, and kept as part of your conversation history in your Abacus.AI account so you can revisit it. You can delete a conversation at any time from the sidebar.

Your content is never used to train or improve AI or ML models, whether ours or a third party's. Abacus.AI maintains zero-data-retention agreements with the model providers it uses.

Google API Services User Data Policy

AbacusAI Assistant's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
